The main plot of Prime Target revolves around a young math postgraduate named Edward, who is on the verge of a groundbreaking discovery. If he can find a pattern in prime numbers, he will have the ability to access every computer in the world. However, he soon realizes that there is an unseen enemy trying to sabotage his idea. This leads Edward to cross paths with Taylah Sanders, a National Security Agency agent assigned to monitor mathematicians. Together, they uncover a complex conspiracy at the heart of Edward’s discovery.
The first season of Prime Target, consisting of eight episodes, is scheduled to debut globally on January 22, 2025, with the first two episodes premiering on Apple TV+. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays until March 5, 2025.
Leading the cast are Leo Woodall, known for his work in The White Lotus and One Day, and Quintessa Swindell, recognized from Black Adam and In Treatment. Woodall portrays Edward Brooks, while Swindell takes on the role of Taylah Sanders. Additional cast members include Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell.
The series was created by Steve Thompson, a seasoned writer known for his work on popular titles like Sherlock, Doctor Who, Jericho, and Vienna Blood. Executive producer Brady Hood directed all eight episodes, providing a consistent vision for the series.
