Netflix Subpoenas Discord in Post-Production Partner Leak Investigation
Netflix is taking serious action against leaks of its post-production content. The company has subpoenaed Discord to help identify users involved in leaking episodes of popular anime like Ranma 1/2 and DAN DA DAN, as well as films like Gekijōban Mononoke: Karakasa. These leaks first appeared on sites like 4chan and BitTorrent in August, with low-resolution footage and blurred watermarks. More leaks followed, including episodes from Re:ZERO and Terminator Zero.
In response, Netflix and localization company Iyuno are working to remove the leaked content. Other shows like Arcane and Heartstopper Season 3 were also affected by the leaks. This incident highlights the challenges of keeping content secure in the digital age, and the importance of taking swift action to protect intellectual property.
