Netflix Acquires ‘Bad Boy’ Israeli Series for North Road
Netflix has acquired the Israeli series “Bad Boy” from Ron Leshem, the original creator of “Euphoria.” This series marks North Road’s first international co-production. Netflix, known for its extensive library of Israeli content, will release “Bad Boy” globally after its initial run on the Israeli network Hot in early 2025. The show debuted on Hot this week.
Announced in March 2023, “Bad Boy” follows the story of Dean, a young man confined in a harsh juvenile detention center. During his time behind bars, Dean forms a deep bond with Zoro, a brooding teenage inmate serving time for murder. Through this connection, Dean discovers how to utilize his unique intelligence and creativity. Twenty years later, these qualities propel Dean to stardom as a comedian. However, his troubled past in jail looms as a dark secret, threatening to resurface and disrupt his life.
