Filmmakers explore The Beatles impact in ’64

Director David Tedeschi and producer Margaret Bodde are bringing the Beatles’ influence on fans in the ’60s to the forefront with their new documentary, Beatles ’64, now streaming on Disney+. The film dives into rare footage captured by Albert and David Maysels during The Beatles’ iconic 1964 New York trip for The Ed Sullivan Show performance.

In other entertainment news, actor Sterling K. Brown, known for his roles in “American Fiction” and “This is Us,” is set to star in the live-action “Voltron” movie. Meanwhile, Paramount Pictures is building excitement for “Sonic The Hedgehog 3” with a teaser ahead of an Opening Fan Day Event on Dec. 19.

Director Luca Guadagnino’s new film, “Queer,” featuring James Bond actor Daniel Craig, is hitting theaters this week. Also, Kerry Washington leads the way in “The Six Triple Eight,” a film highlighting the first Women’s Army Corps unit of color.

Lastly, Lucy Lawless makes her directorial debut with the documentary “Never Look Away,” focusing on the life and career of CNN war camerawoman Margaret Moth. Disney has also released a teaser for the upcoming Pixar movie “Elio,” scheduled to hit theaters on June 13.
