Brad Pitt and George Clooney fans may be disappointed to learn that the duo’s recent movie “Wolfs” won’t be getting a sequel. Despite being the most viewed feature film on Apple TV+, the sequel was canceled by the director, Jon Watts. Watts explained that the decision came after a surprise shift from a theatrical release to a streaming release by Apple TV+ without prior discussion.

After presenting his final cut of “Wolfs” to Apple earlier this year, Watts was tasked with writing a sequel immediately. However, the sudden change in release plans left Watts feeling shocked and led him to cancel the sequel. Watts expressed his appreciation for working with the talented cast but emphasized that he no longer felt comfortable collaborating with Apple TV+.

Brad Pitt and George Clooney had previously faced challenges with the release plans of “Wolfs,” even returning parts of their salaries to ensure a theatrical release. Clooney clarified rumors about their paychecks and shared the disappointment of not having a wide theatrical release for the movie. Despite the setbacks, the film was eventually released in a few hundred theaters, allowing audiences to enjoy the on-screen chemistry of the iconic duo.

Clooney also addressed reports about the hefty salaries he and Pitt received for the film, clarifying that the actual figures were significantly lower than what had been speculated. He emphasized the importance of realistic salary standards in the industry to ensure the sustainability of filmmaking practices.

While the news of “Wolfs” not getting a sequel may disappoint fans, it sheds light on the complexities of the entertainment industry, where creative decisions and financial considerations often intersect in unexpected ways.
