Desmond Hart claims that his powers come from the Shai-Hulud after he was swallowed by it on Arrakis. However, this story has yet to be confirmed.
In the first episode, Hart survived an attack by the Shai-Hulud on the desert planet of Arrakis. For those unfamiliar, the Fremen refer to the sandworms as Shai-Hulud. These creatures are considered sacred and are seen as an embodiment of a higher power.
Dune: Prophecy takes a surprising turn with the sandworms and Desmond Hart. It is revealed that Hart survived being swallowed by the Shai-Hulud. While not confirmed, Hart suggests that his powers may have come from the sandworm. He was able to kill Pruwet Richese and Kasha without even touching them, using what seems to be fire-based abilities. Some speculate that Hart became a ghola, a clone created from dead tissue, after his encounter with the sacred creature.
