Directed by David Lowery (known for The Green Knight and Pete’s Dragon) and produced by Alfonso Cuarón (famous for Children of Men and Gravity), this special is part of Cuarón’s holiday shorts series for Disney+.
An Almost Christmas Story marks the final installment in Cuarón’s collection, following the success of his previous works. In this heartwarming tale, Moon, a young owl, gets stuck in a Christmas tree bound for Rockefeller Plaza. While trying to escape the bustling city, Moon befriends a lost little girl named Luna. Together, they embark on a touching adventure, rediscovering the magic of the holiday season and forming a special bond as they journey home.
The clip titled “Moon at Rockefeller” showcases the owl in the festive tree, observing New York City before accidentally falling out. The voice cast features Cary Christopher as Moon, Estella Madrigal as Luna, Jim Gaffigan as Papa Owl, and other talented actors bringing life to the characters in this animated special.
An Almost Christmas Story is currently available for streaming on Disney+, offering an enchanting holiday experience for viewers of all ages.
