Sling TV Increases Prices by $5.99 Across the Board: What You Need to Know
Sling TV is giving us a heads up that they’ll be increasing their subscription prices soon. The cost of all basic packages, including Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sling Orange + Blue, will go up by $5.99 per month. But don’t worry, you have until December 20th, 2024 to lock in the current rates.
The folks at Sling TV mentioned that the price hike is due to “rising costs”, but they assured us that they are working hard to keep costs as low as possible for us. Sling Blue, which offers shows from networks like Fox, Bravo, NBC, and TLC will now be priced at $45.99 per month. Meanwhile, Sling Orange, which features Disney and ESPN networks, will also see a bump up to $45.99 per month.
If you’re a fan of both packages, the combo subscription with access to all these networks, totaling 46 channels, will now be $61 a month. The last time Sling increased its prices was back in March 2023 by $5 in select areas. They mentioned that these price hikes are not unique to them, as other streaming providers have also raised their prices throughout 2024.
In fact, Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ increased their prices earlier this year in the US, with HBO Max following suit in June. Additionally, NBCUniversal made changes to Peacock’s plans in July of 2023. These adjustments are happening industry-wide, but Sling emphasized that they are still one of the most affordable options out there, providing services that are more than twenty dollars less per month compared to other providers.
