Santa Clauses Season 3 Update
There won’t be a new season of Disney+’s The Santa Clauses in 2024, but don’t fret, the show hasn’t been canceled! While Season 3 hasn’t been officially announced, there’s reason to be optimistic about its future. Earlier this year, some behind-the-scenes details about the show were shared by Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva and Lynette Rice.
Tim Allen, who stars as Santa Claus (aka Scott Calvin) in the series, has been busy with his upcoming ABC sitcom, Shifting Gears. However, there’s a chance that 2025 could see Allen returning for more Santa Clause shenanigans. Even if Shifting Gears takes off, Allen’s schedule could accommodate both shows if Disney+ gives the green light for The Santa Clauses Season 3.
In a recent report, Deadline mentioned, “The Calvin family comedy has yet to hear on a third season renewal and we hear there won’t be a new installment for this upcoming holiday season but it could return in 2025,”. They also added, “If that happens and Shifting Gears is picked up to series, Allen would be able to do both; they are produced by the same studio, 20th Television.”
There were some rumors floating around about some issues on set of The Santa Clauses after Season 2 wrapped. Actress Casey Wilson shared a not-so-pleasant experience she had working with Allen on the Disney+ show during her podcast. Wilson described him as “rude” and shared an anecdote about someone hinting that she caught him on a surprisingly good day on set.
Shifting Gears, Allen’s upcoming ABC project, is set to premiere on January 8, 2025. The show’s official synopsis reads: “Shifting Gears stars Tim Allen as Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter (Kat Dennings) and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”
