Director Explains Reasons for “Wolfs 2” Cancellation
Director Jon Watts recently revealed that there won’t be a sequel to his crime caper film “Wolfs,” despite its success on Apple TV+. Originally intended for a theatrical release, the film ended up having a limited cinema run before being streamed on Apple’s service. Despite its popularity, Watts decided not to proceed with a sequel due to concerns about how Apple handled the switch to streaming. Watts was surprised by the last-minute decision to go straight to streaming, without any discussion or explanation. He even returned the money he was given to write the sequel because he no longer trusted Apple as a creative partner. Although the cancellation of the sequel came as a disappointment to fans, “Wolfs” is still available to watch on Apple TV+.
