Netflix is currently dealing with a major leak of unreleased footage from hit shows like Squid Game, which is suspected to have originated from a security breach at post-production studio Lyuno. The streaming giant is teaming up with Discord to track down the leaker, who reportedly shared copyrighted content, including a photo from Season 2 of Squid Game. Earlier this year, Netflix faced a significant leak that exposed full episodes and images from popular shows such as Terminator Zero, Arcane, Squid Game, and Ranma 1/2 before their official release. Following this leak, Netflix released a statement stating that they were actively pursuing the perpetrator responsible for the leaks.

It seems like Netflix may have made some progress in identifying the source of the leak. The company has sought the assistance of Discord to locate the individual responsible for sharing unreleased footage of its top shows. According to a report by Polygon, “Netflix is seeking Discord’s help in identifying the source of leaked footage from its popular shows.” A court order issued to Discord requests the platform to provide information to identify the Discord user allegedly involved in leaking episodes and images of these Netflix shows.

The leak, which occurred in August, is believed to have stemmed from a security breach at Lyuno, a post-production studio that collaborates with major streaming platforms. Netflix representatives responded to the leak by stating, “One of our post-production partners has been compromised, and footage from several of our titles has unfortunately leaked online. Our team is aggressively taking action to have it taken down.” In a statement on Lyuno’s website, a spokesperson acknowledged a security issue involving unauthorized access to confidential content, emphasizing their commitment to protecting client confidentiality.

In addition to Netflix, Lyuno also provides services to Amazon Studios, BBC, Disney, HBO, and DreamWorks. The streaming giant is working diligently to address the leak and identify the responsible parties. The collaboration with Discord signifies a significant step in this process as Netflix seeks to protect its content and prevent further unauthorized releases from occurring. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining the security and confidentiality of intellectual property in the digital age.
