Bearcats Men’s Basketball Faces Two Neutral Court Matchups at Peacock Classic
The Northwest Missouri State University men’s basketball team, with a current record of 1-3, is gearing up for two exciting neutral court games this weekend at the Peacock Classic. On Saturday at 1 pm, they’ll face off against Southwest Minnesota State, and on Sunday at 1 pm, they’ll take on Concordia, St. Paul. The games will be held at Dorman Memorial Gym on the Upper Iowa University campus in Fayette, IA.
Southwest Minnesota State holds a perfect 3-0 record, securing wins against Fort Hays State (68-62), Nebraska-Kearney (77-73), and Minnesota State (81-68). Northwest Missouri State has faced off against Southwest Minnesota State eight times in total, with both teams currently tied at 4-4.
In the previous season, the teams split their matchups, with the Mustangs coming out on top in the regular season and the Bearcats grabbing a victory in the NCAA Tournament. Concordia, St. Paul, on the other hand, boasts an impressive 4-0 record with wins over Nebraska-Kearney (95-93 OT), Fort Hays State (82-68), St. Cloud State (115-104), and Michigan Tech (83-67).
In their only previous meeting back in 2002, Northwest Missouri State secured a narrow 78-76 victory over Concordia, St. Paul.
