Aldis Hodge and Prime Video Host "Cross" Premiere in Los Angeles
Prime Video’s highly anticipated crime thriller series, "Cross," based on James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross books, had a star-studded premiere event at nya Studios West in Los Angeles. The event featured a glamorous red carpet and an exclusive screening of the first two episodes, attended by cast members, Prime Video executives, and Hollywood stars.
Lead actor and producer Aldis Hodge, along with co-stars Isaiah Mustafa, Ryan Eggold, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, and Eloise Mumford, graced the red carpet. Showrunner and executive producer Ben Watkins, alongside Prime Video executives Mike Hopkins, Jennifer Salke, Vernon Sanders, Albert Cheng, and Sue Kroll, added to the star-studded affair. Actor Edwin Hodge, Aldis Hodge’s brother, also joined the celebration, adding a personal touch to the event.
The screening was kicked off by Sanders, expressing excitement about reintroducing audiences to the iconic character Alex Cross portrayed by Hodge. Sanders confirmed a second season, promising fans more of their favorite detective. Watkins took the stage to thank Amazon MGM Studios for their support, followed by Hodge praising Watkins’ leadership as the greatest he had worked with.
Themed festivities and D.C. vibes were prevalent throughout the evening, with guests enjoying a lively after-party at nya Studios. The event featured cocktails inspired by the show, such as the "New Hero," "Classic Gin Rickey," and "The Deceiver." Paying homage to the D.C. setting of "Cross," a recreated Ben’s Chili Bowl, a famous Washington, D.C., spot, was featured, with owners Virginia and Vida Ali present.
Guests were treated to a special display of original artwork by Aniekan Udofia, a Washington, D.C. muralist commissioned through 9B Collective, a Black-owned concept art studio co-founded by Hodge. This collaboration highlighted the show’s commitment to authentic storytelling and representation, honoring its D.C. roots.
The eight episodes of "Cross" will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on November 14, reaching audiences in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. Viewers are encouraged to tune in to experience the gripping and suspenseful world of Alex Cross in this thrilling new series.
