Peacock’s Paid Subscriber Count Reaches 36 Million as Revenue Surges

NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, Peacock, is making strides towards profitability, with a recent increase in paid subscribers and revenue growth. In its third-quarter earnings report, NBCUniversal announced that Peacock had gained 3 million new subscribers, bringing its total to 36 million. This growth follows the streamer’s Q2 total of 33.5 million customers.

Financially, Peacock had a strong quarter, generating $1.5 billion in revenue, marking an 82% increase year-over-year. This revenue boost can be attributed to the streamer’s new pricing strategy, the airing of the Olympics, and the start of new NFL and college football seasons during Q3.

While Peacock may not be directly competing with streaming giants like Netflix and Prime Video in terms of subscriber numbers, its steady growth in both subscribers and revenue signals a positive trajectory. The streamer’s focus on offering a diverse range of content, including exclusive originals and live sports events, has contributed to its appeal among viewers.

Overall, Peacock’s performance in the third quarter showcases its potential for continued success in the competitive streaming landscape. As the platform continues to expand its content offerings and attract new subscribers, it is positioning itself as a key player in the evolving streaming industry.
