Apple TV+ Becomes Top Focus for Texas Prime in January
Apple TV+ is set to debut a new conspiracy thriller titled "Prime Target" in January, produced by New Regency and Scott Free Productions. The series features a stellar cast including Leo Woodall, known for his roles in "The White Lotus" and "One Day," and Quintessa Swindell, recognized for appearances in "Black Adam" and "In Treatment." The show is created by writer Steve Thompson, known for his work on "Sherlock" and "Vienna Blood," who also serves as an executive producer on the project.
"Prime Target" follows the story of Edward Brooks, a brilliant young mathematics postgraduate portrayed by Woodall, who is on the brink of a groundbreaking discovery. If he can uncover a pattern in prime numbers, he will possess the key to accessing every computer in the world. However, Edward soon realizes that an unknown adversary is working to sabotage his breakthrough before it can come to fruition. This realization leads him to cross paths with Taylah Sanders, a female NSA agent played by Swindell, who has been assigned to monitor and report on the activities of mathematicians. Together, they delve into the intricate conspiracy at the core of Edward’s work.
The ensemble cast of "Prime Target" also includes Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell, adding depth and talent to the series.
The show is a collaboration between Apple TV+, New Regency, and Scott Free Productions, with Ed Rubin serving as an executive producer for New Regency alongside Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan, and Michael Schaefer. Marina Brackenbury is an executive producer for Scott Free Productions, along with David W. Zucker and Scott. Additionally, Laura Hastings-Smith serves as an executive producer alongside writer and director Brady Hood, who is set to direct all eight episodes of the series.
