Big Bang Theory actor reveals plans for potential reboot
A popular TV show might be making a comeback, as indicated by a recent statement from a star of "The Big Bang Theory." Following the announcement of a new spin-off focusing on three supporting characters from the original series, Kaley Cuoco, who portrayed Penny in the show’s 12-season run from 2007 to 2020, expressed her willingness to reprise her role if given the opportunity. Cuoco credited the show and her character for kickstarting her career, acknowledging the impact it had on her professional life.
In an interview with People, Cuoco affirmed her enthusiasm for revisiting her character, emphasizing her love for the role and her enduring connection to it. "I would absolutely reprise that role. One hundred per cent. I love that character, and I always will," she stated. "The Big Bang Theory" was a massive success for CBS, catapulting its lead actors, including Cuoco, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki, to become some of the highest-paid TV actors.
While there is no official confirmation of a reboot, the show’s universe continues to expand with the conclusion of the prequel series "Young Sheldon" earlier this year. The new project, announced in 2023, will center on three characters from the original series: comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, his girlfriend Denise, and recurring character Bert Kibbler. However, not all viewers are thrilled about another spin-off, with some expressing a preference for fresh and original content over constant reboots and revivals.
After her time on "The Big Bang Theory," Cuoco ventured into other projects, including starring in "The Flight Attendant" and "Based On a True Story," which is set to return for a second season. Additionally, she announced her engagement to Tom Pelphrey earlier this year, having been previously married to Ryan Sweeting and Karl Cook.
