Get ready to laugh with Kiri’s "Peacock" coming to Reading soon

Comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean is set to bring her new show ‘Peacock’ to Reading as part of her UK tour, with a performance scheduled at the Concert Hall on November 9th at 7.30pm. Directed by Adam Drake and presented by Little Wander in association with PBJ Management, the show promises an insightful and humorous look into Pritchard-McLean’s journey as a foster parent.

Under the pseudonym ‘Louise,’ the multi-award-winning comedian delves into the world of social workers, first aid training, and the humorous mishaps that come with being a foster parent. Alastair Cope, head of Foster Wales, commended Pritchard-McLean for positively showcasing fostering during her tour, aiming to raise awareness and challenge misconceptions about foster care.

Foster Wales, a network of not-for-profit authority fostering services in Wales, has a goal to recruit over 800 foster families by 2026 to provide safe homes for young people. Cope hopes that Pritchard-McLean’s candid storytelling about her fostering journey will inspire others to consider fostering.

Rolling Stone teases the show as a blend of sequins, social commentary, and uproarious laughter from the versatile UK comedy talent. The Guardian praises Pritchard-McLean for crafting powerful stand-up material from complex and challenging topics.

In addition to her performance, Pritchard-McLean will be collecting pens and pencils for Pens for Kids UK, an organization dedicated to providing educational tools for children globally. Known for her work on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, and other popular shows, Pritchard-McLean’s comedic prowess extends to hosting podcasts and radio shows.

Her Radio 4 panel show, Best Medicine, has been renewed for a second series, and she hosts a variety of podcasts covering topics from true crime to comedy travel. Pritchard-McLean’s hosting of Live From The Covid Arms in 2020 was recognized as a cultural highlight by The Telegraph.
