Apple TV+ has unveiled a new Apple Original podcast titled “Scamtown,” set to premiere on August 26. This 11-part series, narrated by Emmy Award-nominated filmmakers James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte, explores a variety of scams, ranging from the peculiar to the utterly unbelievable. The duo, known for their work on Apple TV+’s Signal Podcast Award-winning “The Big Conn” and the Webby Award-nominated “McMillion$,” serve as the self-proclaimed mayors of “Scamtown.”

The stories are recounted by both the creators themselves and the individuals who experienced them firsthand. From a clever telemarketing takedown and an arsonist causing chaos in Boston to the arrest of an Italian Mafia Don for olive oil-related crimes and the escapades of a rare book thief, the true crime narratives featured in “Scamtown” are stranger than fiction, brimming with peculiarities, ethical dilemmas, and unforgettable anecdotes.

Listeners can tune in to “Scamtown” on Apple Podcasts, with Apple TV+ subscribers gaining access to all 11 episodes on August 26. Nonsubscribers can enjoy the first two episodes initially, followed by a new episode each week. Produced by FunMeter, “Scamtown” is an Apple Original podcast helmed by executive producers Hernandez and Lazarte, with Matt Kaye, Shannon Pence, and Nicole Laufer serving as co-executive producers.
