Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx Film ‘Back in Action’ Facing Potential 2025 Release Postponement
Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx fans may have to wait a little longer for their anticipated movie, “Back in Action.” Originally set for a Netflix release on November 15th, 2024, the film is now eyeing a delay to January 2025 due to some programming adjustments.
According to reports, the movie’s potential new release date is January 17th, 2025, a shift from its initial November 15th release date. When approached for comments, representatives from Netflix declined to provide any information regarding the delay.
“Back in Action” was unveiled earlier in the year during Netflix’s Next on Netflix event in February, where the streaming giant announced a lineup of over 50 new movies and documentaries for the year. The movie was initially slated for a 2024 release, with a confirmed release date of November 15th revealed during Netflix Upfronts in May 2024.
This delay marks the first significant setback this year for Netflix, reminiscent of other films like “Lift,” which was originally scheduled for release in August 2023 but was eventually launched globally in January 2024.
The reason behind the delay remains undisclosed, but it appears that the November 15th date has become a busy period. Notably, the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, initially set for July 20th, was postponed and rescheduled for November 15th after Tyson’s medical emergency. Additionally, Cobra Kai recently announced a shift in the release date of its upcoming episodes to November 15th.
Despite the delay, Netflix continues to list November 15th as the release date for “Back in Action” in its press materials and media center. Fans can stay updated on Netflix’s upcoming releases for the remainder of 2024 on What’s on Netflix.
As the film industry navigates various scheduling changes and adjustments, fans eagerly anticipate the eventual release of “Back in Action” to enjoy the performances of Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx on screen.
