Get Netflix Premium Free for One Year with Peacock Annual Subscription in Verizon’s New Streaming Offer
Verizon has introduced a new streaming bundle deal for its customers, offering a free year of Netflix Premium to those who subscribe to NBCUniversal’s Peacock Premium annual plan. This offer comes just ahead of NBC’s coverage of the Paris Summer Olympics and is valued at $275.88 per year. Netflix Premium allows for ad-free viewing on up to four devices simultaneously in Ultra HD quality. The promotion is set to run from July 18 to August 31, 2024.
To access this offer, Verizon customers can utilize the +play hub, a platform for purchasing and managing content subscriptions available to all Verizon wireless and home internet customers. The partnership between NBCUniversal, Netflix, and Verizon aims to incentivize users to commit to a full year of Peacock, especially with the impending price increase. NBCUniversal plans to showcase a record-breaking 5,000 streaming hours of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on Peacock, making it the largest streaming event the platform has ever hosted.
The financial details of the agreements between Verizon, NBCUniversal, and Netflix have not been disclosed, but it is likely that Verizon is paying a per-subscriber wholesale rate to both content providers. The current landscape of streaming bundles has become increasingly complex, with numerous options available to consumers. Providers offer these bundles to boost subscriber numbers and reduce churn rates, while consumers appreciate them for potential cost savings.
Verizon’s discounted streaming deals also include add-ons priced at $10 per month, such as Netflix and Max with ads, the Disney Bundle, YouTube Premium, and Walmart+ membership with a Paramount+ subscription. Comcast’s StreamSaver package combines Peacock Premium, Netflix Standard with ads, and Apple TV+ at a discounted rate of $15 per month. Additionally, Dish is offering two years of Netflix with ads for free with a two-year commitment.
Each bundled deal comes with its own set of tradeoffs. Customers willing to commit to a full year of Peacock, which offers a vast library of content including NBC and Bravo shows, live sports, and major events like the Olympics, alongside the allure of Netflix Premium, may find value in Verizon’s latest +play offer. However, it’s essential to consider the terms and conditions, especially as the promotional period expires after 12 months.
