Melissa Barrera Vampire Film ‘Abigail Peacock’ Announces Streaming Premiere Date
A Peacock streaming release date has been set for the 2024 vampire horror comedy film, “Abigail,” directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence. The movie premiered in theaters in the United States in April 2024 and grossed around $42.1 million worldwide against a budget of approximately $28 million.
“Abigail” will be available for streaming on Peacock starting July 19, 2024. The plot follows a heist team hired to abduct the daughter of a powerful underworld figure, a 12-year-old ballerina, for a $50 million ransom. As they guard the young girl in an isolated mansion, they soon realize she is no ordinary child, leading to escalating terror among the captors.
The star-studded cast includes Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, Alisha Weir, and Giancarlo Esposito. The screenplay was penned by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick, with production handled by William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, Tripp Vinson, and Chad Villella, while Ron Lynch served as the executive producer.
In addition to its streaming release, “Abigail” will also be released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 9, 2024. The home video edition will feature various special content, including deleted and extended scenes, gag reel, and behind-the-scenes featurettes. “Blood Bath” delves into the practical effects used in the film, while “Hunters to Hunted” explores the character development of the abductors. “Becoming a Ballerina Vampire” showcases the transformation of the young actress into a menacing vampire, and “Directing Duo Matt & Tyler” offers insights into the creative process of the directors. The release will also include a feature commentary with the directors and editor.
