Full Weekend Schedule for NASCAR Chicago Street Race
The NASCAR Chicago Street Race is fast approaching, with downtown Chicago gearing up for the upcoming event. Scheduled for July 6-7, this year’s races will showcase both the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series on a 2.2-mile course that winds through the city’s iconic downtown streets.
The Xfinity Series, considered the second-highest level of stock car racing after the Cup Series, kicks off with The Loop 110 at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. Following that, the Cup Series race, known as the Grant Park 165, will take place at 3:30 p.m. CT on Sunday.
Fans can catch The Loop 110 on NBC and Peacock, while The Grant Park 165 will also air on NBC and stream on Peacock, with radio broadcasts provided by MRN and SiriusXM. Coverage of the Xfinity event starts at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, while the Cup event coverage begins at 3 p.m. CT on Sunday on NBC and Peacock.
The event schedule includes practice and qualifying sessions for both series on Saturday, July 6. The Xfinity Series practice and qualifying sessions will run from 9-11 a.m. CT, followed by the Cup Series sessions from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. CT. Driver introductions for the Xfinity Series will be at 2 p.m. CT, with The Loop 110 race starting at 2:30 p.m. CT.
On Sunday, July 7, the Cup Series driver introductions will take place at 3:10 p.m. CT, followed by the Grant Park 165 race at 3:30 p.m. CT.
In addition to the main races, NBC Sports Chicago will offer special coverage shows leading up to and on the day of the event. A pre-race show will air on Friday from 6:30-7 p.m. CT and will be available for streaming. On race day, another special coverage show will stream from 2:30-3:30 p.m. CT.
For those interested in attending the event in person, tickets are still available for the race weekend. Various seating options are offered for live viewing, and several restaurants and bars in the area will host viewing parties for fans to enjoy the races in a lively atmosphere.
