Apple TV+ Orders Series for Patrick Brammall Thriller ‘The Dispatcher’
Australian actor Patrick Brammall, known for his role in Colin From Accounts, has landed the lead in the Apple TV+ crime thriller series, The Dispatcher. In this upcoming show, Brammall will portray Ian Hunt, a police detective whose life was shattered when his 3-year-old daughter mysteriously vanished a decade ago. Convinced that she was abducted, Hunt’s marriage crumbled, and he grappled with emotional turmoil.
The plot thickens when Hunt receives a distress call from a young girl whom he believes is his missing daughter, Maggie. Driven by an unwavering determination to reunite his fractured family, Hunt embarks on a relentless quest to find her, regardless of the sacrifices he must make. Set in Australia, The Dispatcher is based on Ryan David Jahn’s novel of the same name and has been adapted for the screen by writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa.
Behind the scenes, the series is in capable hands with executive producers Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta from 60Forty Films, alongside Kris Mrksa and Joanna Werner from Werner Film Productions. Notably, Brammall is not only the lead actor but also a co-creator and executive producer of Colin From Accounts, a project he worked on with his wife, Harriet Dyer.
Fans of Brammall may recognize his voice as Uncle Rad in the acclaimed children’s show Bluey and his role as Andy Bouchard in CBS’ Evil. Previously, Brammall was involved in developing No Activity for Jungle Entertainment in Australia before adapting it for CBS. His diverse portfolio also includes the feature film Ruben Guthrie. Brammall is professionally represented by Atlas Artists and UTA.
The Dispatcher adds to Apple TV+’s impressive lineup, which includes other anticipated shows like Hijack, featuring and executive produced by Idris Elba, Slow Horses led by Academy Award winner Gary Oldman, and the newly announced Down Cemetery Road starring Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson, among a host of other talented actors and productions.
