‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season Finale Trailer Shows the Hargreeves Embark on Their Ultimate Journey

Netflix has unveiled the teaser trailer for the highly anticipated fourth and final season of its hit superhero series, “The Umbrella Academy.” The teaser, set to the iconic tune of Europe’s 1986 song “The Final Countdown,” showcases the Hargreeves siblings as they gear up to reunite for one last mission, stepping out of their ordinary lives.

“The Umbrella Academy,” based on the graphic novel series created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, revolves around a dysfunctional family of adopted siblings with extraordinary abilities who work together to avert global catastrophes. In the upcoming season, the Hargreeves face a unique challenge: adjusting to a normal existence after losing their superpowers in the aftermath of a complete universe reset in the previous season.

Returning to the series are familiar faces including Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore. In the teaser trailer, Justin H. Min’s character, Ben Hargreeves, showcases his powers by using his octopus-like tentacles to combat an adversary in a thrilling fight scene.

Joining the original cast for the final season are Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, and David Cross. Offerman and Mullally portray Drs. Gene and Jean Thibedeau, professors at a community college in New Mexico who grapple with intense feelings of déjà vu. David Cross takes on the role of Sy Grossman, a reserved businessman and devoted family man striving to mend his fractured relationship with his estranged daughter.

“The Umbrella Academy” last graced screens in June 2022 with the release of its third season, following its initial debut in 2019 and the subsequent second season premiere. The series, developed by Steve Blackman, features an ensemble of executive producers including Jesse McKeown, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Scott Stuber, and Beau Bauman, with Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá serving as co-executive producers. The show is produced for Netflix by UCP.

Fans can mark their calendars for the premiere of the six-episode final season on August 8, exclusively on Netflix. The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the thrilling conclusion of the beloved series, promising an epic finale for fans to savor.
