Netflix Renews The Ultimatum and Another Reality Series as Unscripted Lineup Grows
Netflix is expanding its reality programming lineup with renewals and new projects. The reality dating series “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On” and its spinoff “The Ultimatum: Queer Love” have been renewed for Season 3 and Season 2, respectively. Hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On” follows couples at a crossroads in their relationships, where one partner is ready for marriage while the other is not. After an eight-week social experiment, couples must decide to commit to marriage or part ways for good. The spinoff, “The Ultimatum: Queer Love,” hosted by JoAnna García Swisher, features women and nonbinary contestants in a similar format.
In addition to these renewals, Netflix has greenlit three new reality series. “Selling the City” is a spinoff of “Selling Sunset” set in New York City, while “Building the Band” follows 50 singers forming bands without meeting each other, akin to a musical version of “Love Is Blind.” “Battle Camp” will see alumni from other Netflix reality shows competing in challenges for a $250,000 prize.
For fans of unscripted content, there are more shows to look forward to this summer on Netflix. “Perfect Match” returns for Season 2 on June 7, “The Mole” comes back for its second season on June 28, and “Too Hot to Handle” will be back for Season 6 in July.
Netflix’s commitment to reality programming reflects the growing popularity of unscripted content among viewers. With a mix of renewals and new projects, the streaming giant continues to offer diverse and engaging reality shows for audiences to enjoy.
