Netflix Announces Premiere Date & Teaser Trailer for ‘Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft’
Netflix has announced the premiere date for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft as October 10. The anime series features Hayley Atwell, known for her role in Agent Carter, voicing the title character. To give fans a taste of what to expect, Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for the series produced by Legendary Television.
The Legend of Lara Croft continues the story after the events of the Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy. Lara Croft, portrayed by Atwell, embarks on new adventures as a globetrotting heroine, exploring ancient mysteries and uncovering hidden truths in dangerous and breathtaking locations. Over 25 years since her debut, Lara Croft’s thirst for discovery remains unquenched.
After the Survivor series, Lara Croft chooses to venture on solo missions, leaving her friends behind. However, she is compelled to return home when a valuable Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with a personal connection to her. This sets off a thrilling pursuit that leads Lara on a worldwide adventure, delving into forgotten tombs and facing her innermost fears to define her identity as a hero.
The cast of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft also includes Allen Maldonado as Zip and Earl Baylon reprising his role as Jonah Maiava from the video game. More voice actors are yet to be announced.
Tomb Raider has evolved into a global phenomenon, spanning across movies, merchandise, and comic books. The collaboration between Netflix and Legendary marks Lara Croft’s debut in an animated series, expanding the franchise’s reach to new audiences.
Executive produced and written by Tasha Huo, known for her work on The Witcher: Blood Origin, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft boasts a talented team behind the scenes. Executive producers include Dmitri M. Johnson, Timothy I. Stevenson, Jacob Robinson, Dallas Dickinson, Noah Hughes, Howard Bliss, and Jen Chambers. Powerhouse Animation is the studio responsible for the animation, with Brad Graeber serving as executive producer.
