Jeremy Renner Joins ‘Knives Out 3’ Cast in First Movie Post Snowplow Incident

Jeremy Renner is making a strong comeback in Hollywood after his snowplow accident, as he joins Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson’s Netflix sequel “Knives Out 3.” The film, titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” will also feature Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Josh O’Connor, and Cailee Spaeny.

Netflix has revealed that the third installment in the “Knives Out” franchise will delve into a new murder mystery in an undisclosed setting, with returning detective Benoit Blanc (played by Craig) investigating a fresh slate of suspects. Rian Johnson, the writer-director, is also a producer alongside Ram Bergman. Production for the movie is set to commence soon.

Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, resumed his acting career after the accident, filming for the Paramount+ drama series “Mayor of Kingstown” just a year later. The new episodes of the series are scheduled to premiere next month.

The original “Knives Out” film, released in 2019 by Lionsgate, was a box office success, grossing over $310 million worldwide. The star-studded cast included Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Christopher Plummer.

Netflix secured the rights to produce two sequels of “Knives Out” for over $450 million. The first sequel, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” premiered on the streaming platform in 2022, featuring Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista among the ensemble.

Deadline was the first to report Jeremy Renner’s casting in the upcoming film. Renner’s involvement in “Knives Out 3” marks another milestone in his career resurgence following the unfortunate accident, showcasing his resilience and dedication to his craft.
