Daredevil Showrunner: Born Again Storyline is More Violent Than Netflix Series

Marvel Studios has taken a bold step towards more violence in its upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. Showrunner Dario Scardapane, who previously worked on the show Daredevil, has revealed that the violence in Born Again surpasses anything seen in the Netflix version.

When Netflix released its Daredevil series in 2015, it was praised for its dark and violent tone, with fans particularly loving the intense fight sequences like the famous one-shot hallway brawl.

Despite initial concerns that Disney’s version of Daredevil might tone down the violence, Scardapane assured fans that the upcoming Disney+ continuation goes even further with its brutality. He mentioned to Empire that the level of violence in Born Again is unprecedented for a Marvel/Disney show, promising moments that go beyond anything seen on Netflix.

Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, also chimed in, affirming that the show has pushed boundaries in terms of darkness, action, and overall grittiness.

While specific plot details for Born Again are still largely under wraps, the first trailer confirmed that the series will adapt the “Mayor Fisk” storyline from the comics. Fans can also expect the return of familiar faces like Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Punisher, Vanessa Fisk, and Bullseye.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, marking the beginning of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
